"I love hanging out with friends and going sledding and riding the ATV on the frozen ice. Having fun, watching movies, playing fuseball, going hobo sledding with cardboard sleds." - Hannah, age 10 (Camp Reunion) |
"My camp story when I went to the UMC Conference. I was playing in the pool with the rest of the kids and I jumped on Josh's back. He flung me at least 5 feet away from him. Now that was fun!" - Rebekah |
"I was doing horseback riding and I was riding a horse and he went way out in the field and I was so scared. I also loved the slip and slide we took a bunch of soap and water and made a slip and slide." - Julianna |

"Every year in Advanced Sailing Camp, we sail across the lake. We harbor up at another camp where we take a break and eat lunch. Also, we sometimes get to walk into town for ice cream along the shore path! Afterwards we raise the sails again and head back to Wesley Woods. I look forward to this each summer." - Tom |
"I liked the Sundae slip and slide!" - Jason |
"My favorite time on the Boundary Waters Canoe Trip was the first trip I took. On the last day of the trip everyone sat on a big rock and fed a big snapping turtle that was in the water. I was so sad because it was the last day of the trip but the day as so quiet and peaceful and sunny I couldn't be sad because I was still with all of my friends." |
"At summer camp Josh dressed up as a troll and scared everyone. Also at camp we did a Sundae slip and slide." |
"I remember when it was my first day at camp we went sledding at night and I was a tiny bit nervous because m sis went night sledding and when she came in she had her mascara going all the way down her cheeks and then I tried it and I loved it. Then when they were getting all the sleds and were leaving I didn't have a sled so I went down penguin style and I went FULL SPEED and it was awesome! Now I am officially a penguin. I will never forget the time I went night sledding again." - Lily |
"My absolute favorite part of summer and what I look forward to all winter are the day sails at Sailing Camp. We sail all the way from Wesley Woods to Lake Geneva and eat lunch there. It is the perfect time to bond and make new best friends because you are out on the water together all day. And if you sail solo, it is the best time to bond with just you and God. Pastor Tom teaches us so much during that week. I LOVE CAMP :)" |
"My favorite story was when we ambushed the girls with water balloons and pelted them before pool time." - Sam, 11 |
"We got to the ranch when we saw storn clouds ahead. We all saddled up quickly and right when we started the trail it started raining! Three girls went back, but the rest of us kept on riding. I didn't give up!" - Moriah, 12 (Horseback Camp) |
"At Creative & Performing Arts in 2000, I brought my long dance skirt that twirled. My best friend at camp kind of pushed me to the front of the room and said, 'DANCE!' So I improvised a dance in my twirly skirt while everyone clapped the rhythm. I felt popular and loved!" - Jennifer Sawicz, 21 |
"We put a board across the pool with a pad around it and we re-enacted the fight between Robin and Little John with fun noodles." - Emma |
"This was years ago, I was probably 13, but it was the fourth day of Horseback Camp and I was on a blonde horse, Ranger. I was in the back and Ranger was stopped to do "business." Everyone got ahead of me, so when I got him to move, he galloped then cantored to catch up. Later that day the whole group was galloping/cantering I realized that I was the first one to gallop/cantor that week." - Lindsay, 16 |
"I remember when Justin, my counselor, told me a story about him in Russia. He was riding on his motorcycle running on peanut oil and he saw a really fat Russian wrestler in a pink speedo with a whale on the beach. Justin also took his voice and changed it into a weird Russian voice and said what the wrestler said. I laughed and laughed like crazy. I'll always remember that." - Danielle |
"I remember the sailing and volleyball campers had challenged each other to volleyball games almost every night after dinner. The sailors are still undefeated!" - Sara K., 16 |
"Just sitting and talking with the other counselors is what I will remember most." - Val, 16 |
"My favorite camp memory was at the Fish, Hike, and Canoe camp when the campers and the counselors had a water balloon war." - Jake |
"I love playing fuseball after a meal." - Max (Sophie) |
"Do you know how to take a horse's temperature? Well, I had to do that at horse camp. You have to stick a thermometer up a horse's behind." - Abigail |
"In 2009, during the Boundary Waters Canoe Trip, we jumped off Wisini Rock into a lake. It's like four stories high. It was the coolest thing ever." - Andrew |
