For mature youth Ages 15 and older
Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church

What is a Leader In Training?
Completion of this program will also include First Aid/CPR certification.
Leader In Training replaces the former Counselor In Training (CIT) program offered by ORM.

Leader In Training Program (LIT)
Are you mature for your age? Would you like to learn more effective leadership skills? Do you enjoy working with children? Would you like to better learn how to share your enthusiasm about your faith and Jesus with others? If so….then this program is for you!
Leader In Training (LIT) is a training program offered by Outdoor and Retreat Ministries to enable youth to strengthen their leadership skills in ministry. This program will equip you with practical and usable tools to enhance your natural leadership abilities. Skill areas will include communication; creativity, problem solving; encouragement; dealing with behavioral issues in a positive way; and more. These new skills will be helpful for many of life’s arenas in addition to the camping ministry.

About the Training...
LIT
program will be offered for a week in the early summer at our Reynoldswood facility. See summer camp offerings/catalogue

Once LIT has successfully completed the training, and has met all requirements, they will be invited to participate as a volunteer LIT during ORM sponsored retreats and the summer camping program.
