About Outdoor & Retreat Ministries
Our two camps, Reynoldswood (Dixon, Illinois), and Wesley Woods (Williams Bay, Wisconsin), are both operated by Outdoor & Retreat Ministries and owned by the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church. Both facilities are open year round to host and/or program retreats for your church and other groups that fit within our Mission Statement. Campsites Going Green
Since the fall of 2004 Wesley Woods has been using an Outdoor Wood burning boiler system to heat its two largest buildings. The unit and its installation paid for itself in two years. With the help of the Board of Trustees and the Seager funding phase one of this project was completed. As we approach the end of out payback period to the Seager Funding we will be proposing another possible fund for phase two. The eventual goal is to have the entire campus heated with wood by the year 2015. These savings to our budget do not come without a lot of volunteer help with the cutting, splitting and stacking of wood. So far we have been able to supply the needs with wood from the 17 acres we have here at Wesley Woods. Reynoldswood is now in the initial planning stages to heat their Dining hall and Pool with the same type system. Both of your camps are trying to leave the smallest carbon footprint as possible now and in the future. If you would like to help in any way with our goals for these projects by volunteering your time to cut firewood, donating towards the purchase of these units, and/or implementation of the units, please contact either Ben Moore at Reynoldswood or Jeff Fry at Wesley Woods.

Ski Camp 2010
"CARVING THE PATH"

Join other Junior and Senior High youth groups for a weekend
of worship, spiritual encouragement, and of course, adventures on the
ski slopes of Alpine Valley!

Adult Astronomy Camp
Come learn about stars, planets, galaxies and black holes
as we take an adventure through our universe. See some of
God's most amazing visual creations. Program includes a visit
to the Yerkes Observatory to see the world's largest refracting telescope.

Giving (and other) opportunities to help Outdoor & Retreat Ministries
"We live our servant ministry to share Christ's love with all we encounter."
That's the purpose statement of the Outdoor and Retreat Ministries staff. We invite you to join in that ministry of service to our guests by helping provide scholarships for those who are economically challenged and by helping improve our facilities. If you are part of a United Methodist Church, you can send your gift through the Advance Special Rainbow Covenant process. There are nine Advance Specials that can be part of your church's Rainbow Covenant giving. If you wish to give your gift individually, send your check to Outdoor and Retreat Ministries, 200 Stam Street, Williams Bay, WI 53191. If you are interested in making a gift of life insurance, property, or to leave this ministry in your will, please notify Bruce Nelson and he can meet with you to make all the proper and necessary arrangements to fulfill your desires. You can also give time and work as a volunteer to support the ministries of ORM.
