Giving (and Other) Opportunities |
| We live our servant ministry to share Christ's love with all we encounter.
That's the purpose statement of the Outdoor and Retreat Ministries staff. We invite you to join in that ministry of service to our guests by helping provide scholarships for those who are economically challenged and by helping improve our facilities. If you are part of a United Methodist church, you can send your gift through the Advance Special Rainbow Covenant process. There are eight Advance Specials that can be part of your church's Rainbow Covenant giving. If you wish to give your gift individually, send your check to Outdoor and Retreat Ministries, 200 Stam Street, Williams Bay, WI 53191. If you are interested in making a gift of life insurance, property, or to leave this ministry in your will, please notify us and we can meet with you to make all the proper and necessary arrangements to fulfill your desires. You can also give time and work as a volunteer to support the ministries of ORM. For more information, contact Bruce Nelson at 1-800-NIC-CAMP or orm@niccamp.org.
This Advance Special is for the improvement and renovation on the two residences, dining hall, storage buildings and staff cabins. Reynoldswood: (50000090) The new summer camping programs for Reynoldswood will include outpost camping away from the dining hall and center of the site. New sleeping structures are needed to implement this program. The ministry needs additional Tree Houses, Tents, Tipis, and Hogans to implement this new camping experience. Wesley Woods: (50000046) Furniture, bedding, linens, tables and chairs and other comfort-related amenities are needed. New commercial grade furnishings will be purchased to equip this ministry. Wesley Woods: (50000047) This building is for worship, recreation and would include smaller rooms for meeting space. It would be handicapped accessible for use year round. Wesley Woods: (50000048) An open shelter overlooking Lake Geneva would provide space for day guests and picnics to protect them in inclement weather. This is a project a church could build! Outdoor and Retreat Ministries Camping Scholarships (50000036) New camping programs are created every year. Local churches have the opportunity to help less fortunate campers participate in these wholesome Christian experiences. Scholarships make it possible for all persons from all parts of the N. I. C. to attend any ministry opportunity offered as part of the Conferences camping programs. Pioneer Fund for New Camps for/from Ethnic Caucuses The ORM is cosponsoring a weeklong camp experience for the urban youth of local churches in the Chicago Northwestern and Southern Districts. This program will bring together small groups of campers and their pastors from all over these two districts at Wesley Woods in the summer of 2000. Please help us support this new program. Campers will be asked to pay only $25 toward the $240 costs. |
