Pre-Camp Impacts of COVID-19 Summer Camp 2021 Safety Mitigations

To minimize exposure to COVID-19, and to maximize safety, Reynoldswood and Wesley Woods will always comply with the latest IDPH guidance. Please double-check this page the Saturday before your check-in for the most current status.

NIC Summer Camps are implementing the following process changes that will impact you directly and before camp:

Registration
To maximize social distancing and to minimize interaction at check-in:
  • ALL REGISTRATIONS and PAYMENT IN FULL MUST be completed 7 days prior to check-in, preferably online,
  • we will not accept payment at check-in
  • ALL HEALTH FORMS must be submitted at least ONE week BEFORE check-in date.

  • Camp Fee & Camp Store
Camp fee's have increase to now include:
  • $3/camper/night to cover estimated COVID mitigations, such as sneeze guards and new sanitization protocols,
  • $1/camper/meal to cover increased food costs
  • $10 to be applied to the camp store so that all campers are able to shop.
(If you want to provide more than $10 for your child(ren) to spend at the camp store, please add it to their online registration.)

  • Drop-Off / Check-In
  • We will assign and enforce check-in times in 15 minute increments.
  • Weather permitting, we will check-in at a table OUTSIDE the Dining Hall.
  • We ask that only one parent accompany each family's child(ren) to check-in.
  • EACH camper will carry their own bag(s) to their assigned cabins–pack accordingly.
  • Parents will not be allowed to accompany children to their sleeping quarters this year.
  • At this time, we are still developing the Medication Drop-Off/Check-In Procedures.
  • We will conduct COVID-19 Symptom Screening in the parking lot before moving to the check-in area.
Do NOT drop-off your camper if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:
  • Body aches
  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Congestion
  • Diarrhea
  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Eye redness
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches
  • Nose, runny
  • Nausea / Vomiting
  • Shaking, from chills (repeatedly)
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Smell, Loss thereof (IF New)
  • Sore throat
  • Taste, Loss thereof (IF New)

  • Talent Show
The CDC/IDPH have asked us to not allow non-essential personnel on-site while campers are present; therefore, parents will NOT be invited to watch Talent Shows in-person, on-site this year. We are developing a video substitute, but do not yet know if it will be live streaming, or uploaded after-the-fact.

    Pick-Up
We are still working on the end-of-camp pick-up process, and will let you know as soon as it is established. If you have any suggestions, please e-mail them directly to me.

Thank you Parents for helping us to make this a SAFE & AWESOME return to in-person Camping!
